Let it Snow!

Ok, day 2 of our blizzard. Has been snowing since Tuesday night. Not a bad storm, we've been through worse. Kids are out of school, I'm out of school, but Andy has to go to work. Sara might not get her flight out to CA on Friday, but oh well, it will just have to wait till next time. At least I have things to keep me busy. I need to make some sugar skulls, set up the altar and study for a mid-term exam. I probably should decide what topic to base my op-ed paper on for English, but eh, I dunno. Wish I had pictures for today, but it's nothing special, just snow.

The Queen

Once some of you start reading this blog (I hope there are going to be others), you'll start hearing about The Queen. The Queen is a 1905 Queen Anne style house, in Roswell, NM. As you can see by this picture, she's dying. I'm trying everything I can to help this house. My husband and I would really like to buy her, but we're uncertain of the ownership status at this time. This picture was taken last summer,'08, and she's getting worse. I'll keep this updated from time to time on what's going on with The Queen.

Bleh, it's Monday

Well, it's happened again. The week has started over, why couldn't it just stop? Monday's I don't work, but still, I detest this day.

Just a side bar

This is my mare Annie, she's by Wendepunkt and is off prepping for breeding for next year. I'm currently riding a Swedish mare, Zarina, by Zorn. Hopefully I'll get a picture up of her soon. This next show season, I should be riding 1st level, but who knows, there's still months and months to go..

Count Down Begins

The countdown has started. 7 days till Dia de los Muertos! I'll start putting up my altar probably on Tuesday, should take 2 days or so to get it finished. Rode the horse yesterday, sore as hell today. Both of us were slightly out of shape, but it's all good. I know today's post is boring, but oh well, until I can get my content up to speed, this is all you get.

One more Fallen

I also forgot about Brenden Mullen, an LA Icon. He started booking bands, giving some of them like RHCP their start. He had the Masque and was generally always around. Massive Stroke at age 60... crap

Being an old punk sucks sometimes.

Ok day 1.5 working on this blog. Trying to get it to look special, (not like special Ed like it is now) but something that will catch the eye of people reading blogs. I found out some shitty news today. A friend of mine from back in the old days (the 80s) that was in a band called MIA, Mike Conley, was murdered in Chicago. I couldn't find the date so I'm not sure how far behind I am. What a load of bollocks, First I find out that Stevo is dead, now Mike? Bah! Life sucks major assage when you're an old punk, and you're finding out that people that you used to hang with are now dead. I probably would have found out about both Mike and Stevo, if I were still living in SoCal..but alas, I chose to raise my kids here in Colorado, probably better for them anyways. My older daughter is into the emo/deathcore/ scene here, so a least she's got that. The husband and I on the other hand, don't do much anymore. Rarely any shows worth making the effort to go to. Ah, such as the life of PR.
